History

Tera Kòrá takes its name from the red colour of the soil and was previously known as Mundu Nobo. Statistics Netherlands describes families moving here from Rincon in the nineteenth century; residents later walked from the area to work at the southern salt pans. Historic wells and tamarind trees also feature in local memory. Sabana is officially part of Nikiboko and is grouped here for practical geographic reasons.

Character and living

Both areas are primarily places for permanent living. Shops, schools and sports facilities are dispersed, while main roads provide quick links to Playa, Nikiboko and the south. Drainage and access should be checked street by street.
