History

Statistics Netherlands assigns Sabadeco and Santa Barbara to the Noord Saliña district. They are relatively recent residential areas compared with the historic centres of Playa, Antriol and Rincon. Their development is linked to the growth of detached housing along the north-west coast and on higher ground.

Character and living

Quiet, privacy and views are key qualities. Distances are greater, with most daily services towards Hato and Kralendijk. For a home, check slope, exposure to trade winds, rainwater drainage and access-road maintenance.
