History
Nawati Noord and Nawati Zuid are classified by Statistics Netherlands as neighbourhoods within Noord Saliña. Republiek is used locally as an area name but does not appear as a separate neighbourhood in every statistical classification. Development forms part of Kralendijk’s gradual expansion across the northern hills.
Character and living
The streets lie higher and farther inland than Hato. A car is virtually essential. Elevation can provide views and breeze, but may also mean steeper access and greater variation in plot shape and drainage.
